PASSPORT INFORMATON
ENTRY/EXIT REQUIREMENTS: Entry into Canada is solely determined by Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) officials in accordance with Canadian law. Please see the CBSA's website for details. Canadian law requires that all persons entering Canada carry both proof of citizenship and proof of identity. A valid U.S. passport, passport card or NEXUS card (see below) satisfies these requirements for U.S. citizens. If U.S. citizen travelers to Canada do not have a passport, passport card or approved alternate document such as a NEXUS card, they must show a government-issued photo ID (e.g. Driver's License) and proof of U.S. citizenship such as a U.S. birth certificate, naturalization certificate, or expired U.S. passport. Children under sixteen need only present proof of U.S. citizenship. (Please see below for important information concerning re-entry into the United States).
If you plan to travel to Canada with a minor who is not your own child or for whom you do not have full legal custody, CBSA may require you to present a notarized affidavit of consent from the minor's parents or legal guardians. Please refer to the CBSA website linked above for more details. There is no specific form for this document, but it should include dates of travel, parents. names and photo copies of their state-issued IDs.
When returning to the United States from Canada, it is very important to note that all U.S. citizens are required to present a valid U.S. passport to enter or re-enter the United States via air. For entry into the United States via land and sea borders, U.S. citizens must present either a U.S. passport, passport card, NEXUS card, Enhanced Drivers License or other Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative (WHTI)-compliant document. The only exception to this requirement is for U.S. citizens under the age of 16 (or under 19, if traveling with a school, religious, or other youth group) who need only present a birth certificate (original, photocopy or certified copy), Consular Report of Birth Abroad, or naturalization certificate.
American travelers are urged to obtain WHTI-compliant documents before entering Canada well in advance of their planned travel. For the most recent information on WHTI and WHTI-compliant documents, please see the State Department's website.
One of the WHTI-compliant documents for crossing the land border is the U.S. Passport Card. The card may not be used to travel by air and is available only to U.S. citizens. American citizens can visit travel.state.gov or call 1-877-4USA-PPT (1-877-487-2778) for information on how to apply for their passports.
Visit the U.S. Department of State Web site frequently for international travel updates at http://www.travel.state.gov/travel/travel_1744.html.
The NEXUS program is limited to citizens of Canada and the United States, lawful permanent residents of the United States and permanent residents of Canada. For information on how to apply visit http://www.cbp.gov/xp/cgov/travel/frequent_travler/nexus_prog/nexus.xml.
Niagara Falls' reputation as a natural world wonder and honeymoon capital of the planet beckons visitors from around the globe.
But it is the bridges that actually bring most of them here.
No other single factor contributes more to tourism growth - indeed the export trade economy overall - than the NFBC's three monumental linkages of concrete and steel. Niagara Falls crossings rank second only to Kennedy International as the busiest port of entry between the U.S. and Canada. If you are about to travel over Niagara's gorge, your vehicle will take one of about 7.2 million passages expected this year on NFBC bridges.

WINTER FESTIVAL OF LIGHTS - 27th ANNIVERSARY
NOVEMBER 6, 2010 to JANUARY 3, 2011
The Winter Festival of Lights runs from November 6, 2010 to January 3, 2011 and has been recognized as a Top 100 Festival by Festivals & Events Ontario and a Top 100 Internationally Known Event by the American Bus Association. Most recently, the Ontario Minister of Tourism, the Honourable Monique Smith, officially named the Winter Festival of Lights an Ontario Festivals & Events of Distinction.
As Canada's foremost illumination festival we offer an illuminating experience to over one million people each year with 3 million dazzling lights and over 120 animated lighting displays, including the world-famous Enchantment of Disney® displays, the spectacular Zimmerman Fountain display and the world's largest illuminated Canadian-American Flag display.
Most of these brilliant illuminations are found within the Niagara Parks, Winter Wonderland, which runs along the Niagara Parkway for about five kilometers (3 miles). The illuminations can be viewed from 5:00 pm to midnight every night during the Festival. There is no admission fee but donations are gratefully accepted ($10 per vehicle is suggested), with all proceeds used to enhance the illuminations. Being such a long route, it's recommended that you drive through the Winter Wonderland. Afterwards, you can park your vehicle across from the Table Rock Complex to take photographs of your favourite displays or enjoy one of the many amenities found within Table Rock.
For many people, a visit to Niagara Falls during the Winter Festival of Lights has become a tradition as those who once visited as children are now returning with their own.
Besides brilliant illuminations, the Festival includes a calendar full of festive events including: Fireworks over the Falls; Opening Ceremonies with an exciting showcase of theatrical presentations including performances by Disney® characters and the Festival of Lights Holiday Choir; Christmas Concerts featuring Loretta Lynn and The Gatlin Brothers; Niagara Falls Comedy Fest; Winter Festival Candle Light Stroll; Candy Cane Lane 5k Race & Fun Run; Festival of Lights Cheerleading Championship; Canada's largest New Year's Eve Party; and so much more!
The 28th Winter Festival of Lights captures the magic of the holiday season from November 6, 2010 to January 3, 2011. Visit our website or contact us to learn more, including great accommodation packages.
