New Summer GO Train Service To Niagara
This summer, visitors travelling between Niagara and Toronto will be able to take the GO Train as GO Transit runs seasonal
weekend and holiday train service to Niagara Region starting Friday May 7.
The service will offer three trips daily in each direction on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from May 21 to September
26.
The two-hour trip will run between Union Station in Toronto with stops at Port Credit, Oakville and Burlington GO Stations,
and at St. Catharines and Niagara Falls VIA Rail stations.
"This new GO rail service will bring tourists to Niagara's wineries, restaurants, and attractions such as the incomparable
Niagara Falls, and give Niagara residents a new option if they are going to Toronto. Our government is expanding public
transit across the province, making investments that build our economic infrastructure and put people to work," said St.
Catharines MPP Jim Bradley.

Centre For The Arts In Downtown St. Catharines
The City of St. Catharines and Brock University applaud a joint federal and provincial government announcement of $36-million
to construct a new Niagara Centre for the Arts in downtown St. Catharines. MP Rick Dykstra and MPP Jim Bradley made the
announcement.
The facilities will have a significant positive economic impact for the Niagara region, helping to create jobs, attract
skilled workers and generate visitors to the region. The city-owned Niagara Centre for the Arts will be adjacent to the
Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts, which Brock University plans to relocate to the downtown from the
University's main campus.
"This project will be the cornerstone of Council's vision for a revitalized downtown," said St. Catharines Mayor Brian
McMullan.
"With the proposed Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and Performing Arts bringing students downtown by day, and the arts centre
attracting audiences from across and outside the region, it will encourage the type of cultural district growth that will be a
catalyst for positive downtown and regional development."
Brock University President Jack Lightstone also hailed the announcement. "This is a day we have all been looking forward to
for a long time," he said, "not just because this cultural landmark will complement our Marilyn I. Walker School of Fine and
Performing Arts, but because it illustrates how a whole community can benefit when people work together."
The announcement results from the work of numerous partners who recognized this project as a great step in a comprehensive
plan for the creation of a significant 'arts hub' for Niagara to revitalize downtown St. Catharines.
These include the efforts of our federal and provincial government representatives - MP Dykstra and MPP Bradley - as well as
an ongoing collaborative effort between the City and the University.

Opening Soon, 13th Street Winery Fourth Avenue
Visitors and locals will soon be able to visit and experience a wonderful winery in St. Catharines. This unique winery
showcases custom made cabinetry, antique oak floors and a glass walled private tasting/board room where private wine seminars
or corporate wine tastings for up to 24 at the giant solid hardwood slab table can take place. A large covered outdoor deck
will make a great spot to enjoy artisanal cheeses and charcuterie with a focus on great Canadian and international cheeses and
regional charcuterie. All charcuterie will be made by top local chefs and the selections will include Bison Bresaola,
Saussicon Sec, Pâté de Campagne, Rillettes and Cappicolo amongst others. Specific 13th Street wines will be
matched to each selection. In partnership with Whitty Farms, fruits and vegetables in season will be used to celebrate
additional in season wine and food matches such as raspberries and sparkling Rosé or heirloom tomatoes and basil with
Buffalo Mozzarella and Sauvignon - Sémillon.
The winery will also have on display a wonderful collection of sculptures from an amazing Romanian artist, Karoly Varess,
whose works are also in the collections of Queen Beatrix of Holland and the governments of Germany and Holland. These will be
situated throughout the grounds and art and wine tours will be offered.
Visitors will also have the opportunity to tour the greenhouses where Whitty Farms will raise some of their fruits and
vegetables. An open house is scheduled for later this summer and more information will follow at a later date.
